This Module 1: Getting Started
This module outlines the relationship between the Initial Teacher Training requirements and classroom behaviour management. The first unit will introduce you to the key aspects of behaviour management in relation to your Initial Teaching Training and Newly Qualified Teacher status. The second unit gives an overview of influential behaviour programmes that have had an impact in schools in recent years. »

Module 2: Classroom Organisation
Here you are gently eased into the creation of a positive classroom environment. Module 2 will increase your levels of understanding of what is meant by effective classroom management. The seven units in this module introduce key principles of behaviour management from the importance of rules and routines, to knowing your consequences, and from promoting rewards to building good teacher-pupil relationships.»

Module 3: Managing Lessons on a Daily Basis
For those having difficulty in managing lessons on a consistent basis, the four units in this module offer over 50 behaviour management techniques for keeping your lessons on course. This module shows you the importance of being pro-active and recommends strategic Wave 1 : Whole Class behaviour strategies and approaches, for each stage of the lesson.»

Module 4: Know Your Behaviour Strategies.
Module 4 not only introduces the range of classroom behaviours you may have to deal with but will also help you to develop your own behaviour management style. Find out more about the concept of Behaviour Recovery and how Wave 2 and Wave 3 behaviour management strategies highlight the options you have available to you. You will have access to over 50 specific behaviour management techniques for managing problem pupils. The sharpening your skills section of each unit gives plenty of practical advice to defuse and rationalise inappropriate behaviours.»

Module 5: Case Studies : Managing ‘low level’ Behaviour Concerns
Recent Ofsted and HMI Reports have identified specific classroom behaviours that cause teachers most concern on a daily basis. This module identifies a range of ‘low level’ behaviour concerns and suggests ways of intervening early, to limit the effect on other pupils. Each unit within this module will suggest specific courses of action to help you to manage 5 of the most common behaviour problems in the classroom.»

Module 6: Case Studies : Managing ‘medium level’ Behaviour Concerns
Module 6 goes on to identify ‘medium level’ behavioural concerns and the impact these behaviours can have on your lessons. The principles of positive behaviour management, described in Module 5, are consolidated and expanded, offering a systematic approach on how to manage more challenging pupils. Application of these principles can gradually build your skills, strategies and confidence levels to tackle and manage 4 of the most common challenging pupil behaviours.»

Module 7: Working with Pupils with Special Educational Needs
Working with special needs pupils can be challenging and this module focuses on behaviour management techniques which relate to children who may have Individual Behaviour Plans or a Statement of Special Educational Need. It shows how part of the process relies on consistent support structures, and more importantly, on the appropriate use of relevant teaching, learning and management styles to accommodate individual needs. »
